ACT
The ACT Assessment test is an admission requirement for some colleges. The instrument consists of a battery of four academic tests that measure academic development in English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science Reasoning. The Assessment provides scores on the four tests, a composite score, and seven sub scores which provide more detailed information concerning an individual's academic development. Calculators are permitted but not required. The cost, if not funded, is 32.00. Study guides are available at the Education Center, Station Library, or at www.militaryonesource.com.

CLEP
CLEP consists of a series of examinations that test an individual's college level knowledge gained through course work, independent study, cultural pursuits, travel, special interests, military service schools, and professional development. The American Council on Education (ACE) recommends the minimum score for awarding credit but each institution determines its acceptable score and the amount of credit granted for each examination. CLEP General and Subject examinations are accepted for credit by more than 2,900 colleges and universities. The Education Center offers 15 of the 35 CLEP tests available. Click here for a list of available CLEP tests. Study guides are available at the Education Center, Station Library, or at www.militaryonesource.com.

DSST
DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST) program is an extensive series of 37 examinations in college subject areas that are comparable to the final or end-of-course examinations in undergraduate courses. ACE recommends 3 semester hours of credit per test. The DSST are very similar to the CLEP tests except that DSSTs' are un-timed but are expected to be completed in about 90 minutes. The Education Center offers 16 of the 37 tests. Click here or visit the Education Center for a complete list of DSST tests available or for study guides. To search for participating colleges and universities click here.
