Tuition Assistance
Tuition Assistance (TA) and Deployed TA is available for all active duty Marines. Each member receives $4500 per fiscal year (1 Oct-30 Sep). However, there is a cap of $250 per semester hour, $166.67 per quarter hour, and $16.67 per clock hour. Tuition assistance is also available to Reservists on continuous active duty, enlisted Reservists ordered to active duty 120 days, and to Reservist Officers ordered to active duty for two years or more. The eligibility guidelines are as follows:
Qualifications -
To qualify, service member must:

Be on active duty for the entire length of the course.

Attend an institution accredited by a regional, national, or professional accrediting recognized by the Department of Education.

Provide all grades from TA courses; reimburse all "W" and "F" grades. Withdrawal reasons may be forgiven with command verification and a copy of your orders.

Agree, if an officer, to remain on active duty for at least two years upon completion of a funded TA course. This OBLISERV runs concurrently with remaining obligated service.
In addition you must have:

Completed a College 101 orientation class at any duty station. The Education Center provides the College 101 orientation on Tuesdays form 1000-1100 and Thursdays from 1400-1500 on a walk in basis.

Minimum GT score of 100 (or 10.2 TABE Test)

No outstanding TA debt

No outstanding grades

No disciplinary actions pending
