Physical Fitness

The Semper Fit Physical Fitness Programs are available to all authorized patrons aboard the base and include personal, partner, and group training, circuit training, family fitness, and group exercise classes. Our mission is to assist, support, and maintain healthy lifestyle behaviors through instructional fitness activities and skill development. We also provide mission specific Unit PT, BCP, HITT, PFT/CFT support, and Corporal’s Course Instruction for Marines. Our professionally trained, certified staff is here to educate, motivate, and personally address your individual fitness needs.

STATION GYM

The Station Fitness Center (bldg. 545) has a 3,100 sq. ft. weight room that includes Olympic free-weight benches, squat racks, selectorized, plate-loaded, and cable machines, as well as dumbbells ranging from 5-150 lbs. The cardio area is 2,200 sq. ft. and features 13 treadmills, 17 elliptical trainers, 2 step mills, 10 stationary bikes, a Versa-climber, 2 ALTER G (anti-gravity) treadmills, and a stretching area. There are flat screen TVs throughout. Please wipe down equipment after use.

The Functional Fitness Room has everything from grappling mats, ergometers, a WOODWAY CURV treadmill, two lifting platforms with rubberized weights, kettlebells, medicine balls, back extensions, Bosu balls, stability balls, balance discs, TRX and pull-up stations, two heavy bags, and a speed bag station.

Bldg. 545 also houses a full-size basketball court with challenge hours and pick-up games at various times throughout the day. There are two racquetball courts, men’s and women’s locker rooms, a men’s sauna, and gym towel service. Personal trainers are available upon request.

The Tactical Fitness Area is located outside on the northwest corner of Station Gym. It includes a 2,400 sq. ft. shade structure, surrounding grass and sand, and a three story climbing wall. There are High Intensity Circuit Classes taught by a personal trainer every morning at 0600 and 1800 when weather permits. Marines may participate in the activity or use gear from the Equipment Locker to execute their own cross-training workout. Unit PTs with trainers are also available by reservation (at least 24 hours in advance, please).

PERSONAL TRAINERS

Take advantage of our remarkable personal trainers. There are 1-on-1, partner, and group sessions available upon request. We will help you build an individualized program that will assist you in reaching your fitness goals. 

GROUP EXERCISE CENTER (GXC)

The GXC is located in bldg. 691, by the Oasis Pool. Our classes cover a wide variety of modalities including indoor cycling, muscle toning, high intensity interval, step, yoga, cardio kickboxing, and Zumba. Classes are available to anyone over the age of 16 (12-15 with adult supervision) who has base access. The schedule is updated regularly and is available by following the link below. 16TH STREET GYM

The 16th St Community Center (off-base housing) has a fitness room with some treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, Olympic benches, cable and selectorized machines, a squat rack, and dumbbells ranging 2-100 lbs. There are men’s and women’s restrooms equipped with showers. Some classes are also offered.
